Job Summary:

A skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon is sought by Ajara Hospitals to provide high-quality clinical care in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of complex cardiovascular and thoracic conditions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in performing complex surgical procedures, managing critical cases, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surgical Care:
  • Perform a wide range of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, lung resections, and vascular grafting.
  • Manage and treat complex cardiovascular and thoracic conditions, such as congenital heart diseases, ischemic heart diseases, valvular heart diseases, and diseases of the aorta and peripheral arteries.
  • Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Care:
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, including diagnostic tests, patient history evaluation, and risk analysis.
  • Develop post-operative care plans and closely monitor patients' recovery in the ICU and post-surgery wards.
  • Consultation and Diagnosis:
  • Provide consultations for patients referred for cardio-thoracic and vascular issues, including interpreting diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms, angiograms, and CT scans.
  • Diagnose conditions and plan both surgical and non-surgical treatment strategies.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Lead a multidisciplinary surgical team, including scrub nurses, anesthetists, perfusionists, and surgical assistants.
  • Participate in hospital rounds, case reviews, and multidisciplinary meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • MBBS, MS (General Surgery), and MCh/DNB in CTVS from a recognized institution.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in performing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries in a high-volume hospital or medical center.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling critical surgical procedures and post-operative care.

  • Availability for emergency surgeries and on-call duties as required.
