Job Title: Trade Finance Specialist

A leading company is seeking a seasoned Trade Finance expert to provide domain guidance, drive product development, and ensure compliance with international trade finance standards.

We are looking for an experienced professional to take on the role of Trade Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) and contribute to our mission of automating and transforming trade finance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the domain expert for trade finance in platform development, ensuring alignment with banking practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Define and validate workflows for trade finance instruments (Letters of Credit, Bills of Exchange, Invoices, Bills of Lading, Import/Export documentation).
  • Provide compliance and regulatory inputs, including UCP 600, ISBP, FEMA, AML, KYC, OFAC, and ICC guidelines.
  • Collaborate with product, technology, and client teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Validate AI/ML-driven outputs such as OCR accuracy, anomaly detection, and classification of trade documents.
  • Support VAPT, audit, and risk assessments from a trade finance domain perspective.
  • Prepare use-case scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria for new product features.
  • Assist in client onboarding discussions, demos, and training sessions.
  • Advise on business continuity requirements for trade finance operations.
  • Stay updated on the latest trade finance trends, regulations, and digital transformation initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in trade finance operations, compliance, or consulting (banking/financial institution background preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade finance instruments (LCs, BGs, invoice financing, supply chain finance).
  • Strong understanding of UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, AML/KYC, FEMA regulations, and SWIFT messaging standards.
  • Experience working with core banking/trade finance platforms (e.g., Finacle Trade, EximBills, TI Plus).
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business teams and technical developers.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience working with digital transformation or fintech products is a plus.
