US Staff Accountant Position for CPA Firms

At SENTIENT, an Ascend Company, we are seeking a highly skilled US Staff Accountant to join our team of experts based in the US, India, and Mexico. As a Staff Accountant, you will work with CPA clients and SMB clients in day-to-day bookkeeping, providing substantial guidance and support from a Manager.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Becoming proficient in QBO, QBD, BDC, SAGE Intacct, Microsoft Office 365 Suite, and related software tools.
  • Learning preparation of task spreadsheets, GL reconciliation work papers, and proper documentation.
  • Tracking Open Items and exceptions to ensure easy review and addressing.
  • Adopting client workflows, accounting practices, and preferences.
  • Scaling the learning curve quickly.
  • Highlighting accounting errors or process gaps to senior/Manager teams.
  • Completing beginner and low complexity bookkeeping and analytical tasks with minimal technical corrections.
  • Participating in various projects and collaborating with multiple teams.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in US Accounting.
  • A strong academic track record, minimum 60% or above.
  • The ability to uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
  • An understanding of industry-specific accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $50,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
