Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for a skilled mechanical design engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing complex mechanical systems and equipment.

Your primary objective will be to collaborate with customers and marketing teams to determine design requirements, plan and execute the design of precision mechanical equipment, develop and test prototypes, and work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that design specifications are met.

You will have the opportunity to solve problems in engineering design, participate in industry development, and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meeting with vendors and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers to determine project requirements.
  • Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for mechanical systems.
  • Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs.
  • Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine designs.
  • Overseeing the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.
  • Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.
  • Liaising with designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
  • Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
  • Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Rhino etc.
  • Solid knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking.
