Job Title: Head of Project Management Office

Join Baldota Steel and Power Limited as we seek a highly skilled and experienced Head of Project Management Office to lead our Integrated Steel Plant Capex Projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the PMO office, overseeing budget and schedule control, and ensuring successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the PMO office for budget and schedule control
  • Prepare and monitor individual project L6 schedules and overall integrated project schedules
  • Prepare and monitor dashboard MIS for capex projects, highlighting key milestones, risks, and resource mapping
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for management review and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate insurance for overall projects, including marine and EAR policy
  • Prepare and control budgets at the overall integrated steel plant project level and individual unit level
  • Work closely with department heads to prepare budget and cash flow reports
  • Prepare and monitor supply of engineering by technology suppliers and detailed engineering consultants, as well as equipment and site execution within approved budget and time schedule
  • Review and maintain technical comparisons for vendor finalization and PO placement
  • Review and control post-order tracking of material in close alignment with the POT team for timely delivery
  • Monitor and sensitize safety, statutory, and legal compliances of integrated steel plant projects as per stipulated norms
  • Identify possible risks impacting project time and cost and inform the VP Steel Project for review and mitigation plan
  • Work in selection of technology partners for various projects
  • Monitor and ensure closure of different projects contracts of different locations both technically and commercially

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing integrated greenfield projects with capacities greater than 2.0 MTPA
  • Extensive experience in managing and executing projects within the steel industry, particularly with integrated steel plants
  • Must have been involved in steel plant technology selection, preparation of steel plant DPR, statutory compliances, vendor selection, feasibility analysis, etc.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget, showcasing effective leadership and execution skills
  • Expertise in selecting steel plant technologies and preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPR) that align with industry standards and organizational goals
  • In-depth experience in ensuring statutory compliance, conducting thorough vendor selection processes, and performing detailed feasibility analyses
  • Successful management of large-scale, cross-functional projects, coordinating efforts across multiple departments and teams
  • Strong capability in on-ground project execution, including detailed project monitoring, progress reporting, and problem-solving
  • Proven ability to work independently and effectively in ambiguous or evolving environments, adapting to challenges and changing conditions
  • Skilled in implementing risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
