Data Science Engineer for AI Innovation

As a Data Science Engineer for AI Innovation, you will have the chance to work with Amazon's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team, whose mission is to build the world's best Artificial General Intelligence that will enable every Amazon business to deliver more value to its customers and benefit humanity.

The AGI team works on developing foundational models and services that can be used across all businesses at Amazon. Powering this growing AI is the need for data, which machine learning models depend on. The AGI Data Services organization provides data creation, curation, and analytics services to help develop, test, and train the AI models.

This role requires a strong background in algorithms, high-performance distributed systems, and experience working with web frameworks like Django/React.js. You will also need to have excellent communication skills and be able to interface with other engineers and stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Analytical abilities and proven design skills
  • Product delivery experience, with strong background in algorithms and high-performance distributed systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
