Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned software engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the health and performance of our internet-facing services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop tools and technologies that drive rapid iteration and growth.

About Engineering

The engineering team builds and operates the infrastructure that resolves, routes, and delivers all traffic between our members and the application layer. We focus on performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the overall health and performance of one or more internet-facing services
  • Gain deep knowledge of our complex applications
  • Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor custom applications in a large-scale Linux environment
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline
  • 5+ years experience with administration and troubleshooting of Unix/Linux systems
  • 5+ years experience coding in one or more programming languages like Rust, Go, Python, Perl, Ruby etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years in a UNIX-based large-scale web operations role
  • Experience with .NET, C#, Android or iOS development
  • Experience in building systems automation and server backends with Python
  • Experience with writing scalable programs in Rust/Golang/Python
  • Previous experience working with geographically-distributed coworkers
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment
  • Knowledge of data structures, relational and non-relational databases, networking, Linux internals, filesystems, web architecture, and related topics
