Job Title: Senior Analog and Mixed-Signal Design Lead

Job Summary:

  • Leverage expertise in analog and mixed-signal IC development to drive high-volume production.
  • Mentor block designers, review work, and conduct comprehensive design reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect chips for digital fault tolerance.
  • Support bench validation, qualification, and test development efforts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative analog and mixed-signal architectures and circuits in CMOS or BiCMOS processes.
  • Analyze technical performance specifications, technology trade-offs, and circuit design parameters.
  • Perform transistor-level design and simulation using industry-leading EDA tools.
  • Lead design reviews and oversee layout editing.
  • Work with digital design engineers, CAD, systems engineering, test engineering, and applications teams to achieve DFT and DFM goals.
  • Define verification matrices with the verification team.
  • Owning top-level schematics and running all top-level analog simulations.
  • Participating in top-level AMS verification.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A master's degree or higher with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, or a Ph.D. with 6 years of experience.
  • A proven track record of taking at least one analog-mixed signal part to high-volume production.
  • Proven success at each stage of the following:
    • Circuit architecture development and technical feasibility studies.
    • Writing detailed block-level specifications and review documents.
    • Detailed design and simulation of oscillators, ADCs, DACs, temperature sensors, PLLs, low-noise op-amps, regulators, and bandgap circuits.
    • Proficiency with EDA tools including Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, ADE, and Mixed-mode AMS tools.
    • Extensive knowledge of layout effects for circuit and layout design.
    • Ability to supervise layout designers.
    • Extensive experience with post-layout extraction and verifications.
    • Experience with validation, characterization, qualification, and production release criteria.
    • Ability to communicate and work effectively with geographically dispersed teams.
    • Ability to work independently and drive solutions to challenging problems.
