Job Summary:Flipkart is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director - Technical Program Management to lead our technical program management function. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving large, complex, multi-phased technical initiatives that deliver business value and meet strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Partner with stakeholders to understand long-term capabilities and initiatives that need to be managed in-line with organizational goals.
- Drive strategy setting and review exercises, including OKR finalization and quarterly/monthly OKR reviews.
- Create and manage prioritization and execution frameworks to manage initiative backlogs.
- Own and execute end-to-end SDLC for top-level key technical initiatives, partnering with project sponsors, other technical program managers, and multiple development teams.
- Partner with architects to drive high-quality technical solutions and provide inputs on architecture, design, and priorities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, provide escalation management, and anticipate tradeoffs balancing business needs versus constraints.
- Clearly articulate and communicate vision, plans, and project status to Flipkart leadership and key technical and business stakeholders.
- Engage with other teams across Flipkart to evangelize your team's work, build relationships, and help identify existing technologies/processes that can be leveraged to meet your team's goals.
- Good business and product/tech understanding of datacenter technology, cloud migration strategies, mobile app development, user experience design, e-commerce funnels, and fulfillment/supply chain.
- Strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners.
- Hands-on experience in establishing and driving Agile methodology.
- Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on programs.
- Taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced environment, including a history of successfully delivering large-scale projects end-to-end through the entire life-cycle.
- E2E thinking - understanding the overall product/tech strategy, influencing/aligning cross-functional teams, and having an entrepreneurial mindset in solving underlying product/tech challenges.
- Technology acumen - understanding relevant tech stacks for mobile app development, microservices, data centers, virtual machines, Kubernetes, etc.
- Stakeholder management - aligning stakeholders on 'what's' and 'how's' of the technical program.
- Execution excellence - driving execution rigor using set practices, managing and driving change wherever needed.
- Problem-solving and decision-making - proactively identifying problems and driving solutions, making decisions based on the values and principles of the organization.
- 14-20 years of industry experience in total, with a minimum of 4-8 years of product/technology background in implementing product and tech solutions addressing business needs and outcomes.
- Experience in partnering with senior leadership and driving strategic initiatives.
- Must have led large, multi-team technical programs/initiatives that addressed end customer's pain points/business outcomes directly.
- A very good understanding of program management methodologies, including hands-on experience in driving various aspects of program management.
- Very good understanding of SDLC methodologies, in particular Agile methodologies, and a know-how in implementing and adapting them.
- Startup experience will be a plus.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology.
- PMP/other program management certifications.
- Agile/SAFE certification.
