Role Overview:

Medical Insurance Verification and Prior Authorization Specialist

This critical role is vital to our operations, supporting both sleep studies and DME services. As a Medical Insurance Verification & Prior Authorization Specialist, you will be the primary point of contact for patients and insurance companies, ensuring seamless communication and efficient authorization processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility for sleep studies, DME, and related procedures.
  • Prior Authorizations: Obtain prior authorizations efficiently and accurately, working closely with insurance companies to resolve any issues.
  • Co-Pays and Deductibles: Clearly explain co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance to patients, providing excellent customer service.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Demonstrate strong knowledge of HMO and PPO plans, as well as other insurance types.
  • Documentation: Accurately document and track authorizations in EMR systems and Excel, maintaining up-to-date records.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in medical insurance verification and prior authorization.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and insurance plan types.
  • Skills: Familiarity with sleep studies and DME services (preferred but not required), ability to multitask, stay organized, and shift roles when necessary.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
