Project Cost Controller

Job Overview

  • We are looking for an experienced cost controller to manage project finances, prepare budgets, and lead the actualisation process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure alignment with project goals.
  2. Tax Compliance: Take ownership of project invoicing, tax compliance, and financial accounting to maintain accurate records and ensure timely payments.
  3. Risk Identification: Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project success and alignment with objectives.
  4. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project teams to promote commercial awareness and provide input on project execution plans.
  5. Billing Records: Maintain accurate billing records and ensure timely payment collections.
  6. Expense Monitoring: Monitor site expenses, report weekly, and reconcile SAP entries with invoices.
  7. Cost Analysis: Analyze actual vs. budget costs and revenues, highlighting potential issues to project managers.
  8. Project Actualisation: Lead the project actualisation process, coordinating with project teams and preparing finance-related slides.
  9. Kappa Review: Review Kappa against budgeted costs, highlighting overruns and ensuring adequate documentation.
  10. Project Slides: Share project slides for monthly business reviews, keeping controller managers informed.
  11. Provisions Check: Conduct comprehensive checks on provisions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  12. Cash Verification: Perform monthly cash verification and surprise audits, reporting results to HO teams.
  13. Compliance Supervision: Supervise compliance with Internal Financial Controls (IFC) as defined by HO in the Risk and Control Matrix (RCM).
  14. Contractual Obligations: Ensure timely renewal of guarantees, insurances, and other contractual obligations.
  15. Tax Regulations: Comply with tax regulations and provide support to the execution team as needed.
  16. Staff Timesheets: Fulfill man-day requirements and supervise staff timesheets.
  17. Site Accountant Support: Guide and support the site accountant in their day-to-day tasks.
  • Desirable Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, strong follow-up abilities, go-getter approach, basics knowledge of SAP, high sense of responsibility, commitment, & effective communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • MBA Finance / CA-Inter / ICWA
  • Total experience of 6 to 10 years
