About the Public Policy Role

The Public Policy team plays a vital part in navigating regulatory environments and ensuring alignment with business objectives within India's policy framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute policy strategies that align with business goals, providing direction and guidance to key stakeholders.
  • Represent the company's interests with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders at local, state, and national levels.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments to identify emerging opportunities and challenges that may impact the business.
  • Provide strategic, data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership on key policy matters, ensuring proactive decision-making.
  • Implement effective strategies to address critical legislative, regulatory, and public policy proposals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in policy-related matters, offering both tactical and strategic advice to senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across regulatory, industry, and business networks.
  • Engage with industry associations and forums to advocate for the company's priorities and contribute to shaping relevant policy frameworks.
Requirements:

This role requires an individual with 5+ years of experience in public policy and regulatory affairs, with a strong focus on the Indian market. A strong network of stakeholders is essential, including senior-level connections. The ideal candidate should have an extensive understanding of the policy climate in India, combined with sound business judgment and common sense.

  • A proven ability to anticipate emerging issues of importance to the business, communicating their impact on the company to senior management, and developing a strategy to address them effectively.
  • Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals, understand business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal and external customers.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Sound business acumen and a practical approach to policy development and regulatory compliance.
