Job Title : Product Engineering Manager

Role Description:

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced product engineering professional to lead the development of new and emerging product lines.

This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including senior leaders, product managers, developers, quality analysts, infrastructure specialists to establish a robust product engineering process.

The successful candidate will be reasonably hands-on and able to take charge of end-to-end product engineering requirements for multiple product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with strategy, product, and business teams to create a product roadmap for your team and drive execution.
  • Serve as a thought leader and mentor on architecture, design, and technical aspects of products.
  • Identify and deploy the right tools, frameworks, techniques, and processes to help product engineers work faster and solve technology problems more effectively.
  • Responsible for product development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of products within agreed time frames.
  • Own all non-functional requirements (NFRs) for products.
  • Contribute to the selection and hiring of product engineering team members.
  • Responsible for product development (full stack) and release, including architecture, design, development, and testing within agreed time frames.
  • Adapt and iterate quickly based on user and business feedback and metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for an individual who has:

  • Experience in product development companies would be highly desirable.
  • Well-versed in Agile software development and management methods, including user stories, iterative development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, shared ownership, test-driven development, etc.
  • Adept at using off-the-shelf software components rather than building everything from scratch if they meet requirements.
  • Value progress over perfection and have a track record of shipping value to customers.
  • Hands-on and extremely confident with TypeScript.
  • Experienced with JavaScript-based front-end frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte and back-end like Node.js.
  • Well-versed in service-oriented architecture and have built and deployed RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
  • Built and shipped features for high-traffic web applications and mobile applications.
  • Good with relational databases (RDBMS) like MySQL and NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB.
  • Familiar with using observability tools to identify and isolate problems.
  • Passionate about working together with a team to solve customer problems.
  • Excited about teaching and mentoring team members.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

Qualifications & Experience:

BE/B.Tech or any equivalent degree with 12-20 years of relevant experience.
