Solar Power Project Manager

Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the installation, testing, and maintenance of solar power systems at project sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in solar PV systems and a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles applied to renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Monitor Solar PV Electrical Works: Ensure timely and quality installation of panels, inverters, combiner boxes, transformers, and cable routing.
  • Review and Interpret Electrical Drawings: Analyze solar electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), string configurations, and layout plans.
  • Oversee LV/MV Systems Installation: Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Conduct Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Activities: Perform insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and inverter testing for solar systems.
  • Monitor Subcontractor Performance: Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
  • Ensure Compliance with International Standards: Adhere to IEC, NEC, local regulations, and solar industry best practices.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Document daily site logs, quality reports, material inspections, and testing records.
  • Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Propose practical on-site solutions to maintain progress and quality.
  • Implement HSE Procedures: Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures during electrical installations and inspections.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's is a plus.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in solar PV system installation and supervision.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of solar PV system components (inverters, modules, combiner boxes, etc.), familiarity with electrical safety standards, and testing equipment.
  • Ability: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Location: Willingness to be based on-site in Liberia.
