Senior Financial Analyst

This role involves managing day-to-day financial activities, ensuring timely reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of accounting principles and tax laws.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the finance team and other internal departments with complex accounting matters.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Ad hoc finance related duties.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end reconciliations and financial reporting.
Accounting Operations:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries and ledger maintenance.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions. Potential to include AR and AP for North American entities.
  • Where applicable, reconcile vendor invoices to time sheets used for billing customers.
Taxation & Compliance:
  • Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Annual Returns, etc.).
  • Handle TDS/TCS compliance and return filings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of professional tax (PT) and provident fund (PF) returns.
  • Assist in statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments.
Financial Reporting & Budgeting:
  • Prepare monthly management information system reports, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets.
  • Prepare divisional reports for any North American divisions assigned.
  • Develop monthly budgets in coordination with business requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Focus analytics on the cost structure within the divisions to ensure controllable costs are being managed optimally and within budgets.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and investments and support consolidation process.
Banking & Treasury:
  • Reconcile bank accounts and manage banking transactions.
  • Process payroll disbursements, vendor payments, and statutory dues.
  • Track customer receipts to ensure vendors are paid upon receipt and set up required vendor payments.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and statutory authorities.
  • Drive process improvements and enhance internal financial controls.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset registers and compute depreciation.
  • Assist Canada Finance Team.
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in Zoho Books, Microsoft Navision and Zoho Payroll.
  • Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables, vlookup, and advanced formulas).
  • Analytical thinking and high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance).
  • Prior experience in mid-to-large organizations or a CA firm.
  • Required Experience & Skills:
  • 4–8 years for MBA (Finance) graduates.
  • 1–2 years for qualified Chartered Accountants (CA).
  • Proactive, self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Well-organized with ability to work independently.
