Job Title: Payroll Specialist

    The role of a Payroll Specialist is pivotal in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of employees. This key member of the payroll department will be responsible for analyzing data and payroll transactions to guarantee compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the accuracy of payroll data by performing rigorous quality checks.
  • Supporting all payroll functions and programs impacting employees, serving as a resource for the employee population.
  • Processing employee information and job information, including new hires, terminations, tax and payment election setup, ongoing and one-time earning and deduction processing, garnishment/support order processing.
  • Implementing changes to policies and procedures within own area, as directed by the Supervisor and Manager, Payroll.
  • Resolving routine employee queries and escalating non-standard issues to the Supervisor or Manager, Payroll.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities to exceed customer expectations.

Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • Two years of experience in US and Canada Payroll is necessary, with knowledge of multi-state pay requirements and taxes.
  • Knowledge of Dayforce Payroll and Workday HR is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is expected.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills are essential.
  • Ability to follow documented processes is vital.
  • Capacity to work within deadlines is necessary.
  • Ability to work in a team environment is expected.
  • Flexibility during month and year end closings is required.
