Job Title: Procurement Manager

About the Role:

The Assistant Manager – Raw Material Procurement oversees the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management of critical raw materials such as Hot Rolled Coils, hot rolled plates, and coated steel for manufacturing solar mounting structures, transmission towers, and wind towers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes procurement strategies for raw materials based on production demands and market conditions.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and negotiates with suppliers and vendors to secure optimal terms and maintain a robust supply chain.
  • Issues and manages purchase orders, tracks deliveries, and resolves procurement-related issues for timely material availability.
  • Monitors market trends and pricing fluctuations for steel products and adjusts purchasing plans accordingly.
  • Collaborates closely with production, quality control, finance, and plant planning teams to align procurement with manufacturing needs and quality standards.
  • Effectively manages inventory levels to balance availability and cost.
  • Ensures compliance with company procurement policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains accurate procurement documentation and prepares reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier evaluations.
  • Supports vendor development and conducts periodic supplier audits for quality and delivery performance.
  • Assists in continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in raw material procurement in steel or manufacturing industries, preferably related to construction or heavy engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of HRC, coated steel, hot rolled plates, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Proficient in procurement SAP Hana applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures and supplier compliance is a plus.
