Operations Manager Role

This critical position oversees daily operations ensuring 100% uptime for power, temperature, humidity, access, CCTV, and ELV/BMS systems. The Operations Manager must be highly skilled in electrical, mechanical, and ELV systems used in the data centre environment.

The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in data centre operations, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in managing NOC & SOC operations, infrastructure uptime, safety, security, hygiene, audit compliance, vendor management, green initiatives, and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure 100% uptime for power, temperature, humidity, access, CCTV, and ELV/BMS systems
  • Manage NOC & SOC operations, infrastructure uptime, safety, security, hygiene, audit compliance, vendor management, green initiatives, and customer satisfaction
  • Deliver planned/predictive maintenance effectively and efficiently by leveraging competent resources while adhering to standards and procedures
  • Address the learning and development needs of the team, conduct regular performance reviews, plan for succession, and build a strong operations management team
  • Demonstrate knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and ELV systems used in the data centre environment
  • Participate in the design, testing, commissioning, and handover to operations of new equipment and capacities
  • Actively participate in customer review meetings and management reporting
  • Adhere to various audit standards including ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO20001, ISO22301, PCI DSS, ISO50001, SOC1, and SOC2
  • Prepare detailed methods of procedure for planned maintenance, changes, or troubleshooting, subject to approval by the Head or Customer SPOC
  • Log all work carried out by contractors/vendors in systems
  • Conduct periodic reviews with vendors/contractors, track KPIs, and ensure timely closure of action items
  • Respond to alarms, critical situations, and emergencies during normal working hours in a calm and clear manner, in accordance with the emergency response plan
  • Continuously seek ways to improve quality and efficiency standards for all equipment in the data centre, including cost-saving measures without compromising quality
  • Prepare and manage requirements, ensure compliance, and find ways to increase energy efficiency without sacrificing site continuity or uptime
  • Collaborate effectively with others within the organisation and ensure timely response during emergencies to maintain safety and operational continuity
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to organisational excellence
  • Prioritise and manage multiple projects and responsibilities effectively, meeting committed timelines with the assistance of peers
  • Be a strong team player, capable of covering all tasks required to get the job done
  • Conduct data centre tours and participate in events organised by the company
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and maturity in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Play a vital role in data centre capacity augmentation and ensure smooth handover and onboarding of customers
