About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated technical professional to join our team as a Messaging Infrastructure Engineer. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our messaging infrastructure using Apache Kafka and Apache ActiveMQ.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy Kafka and AMQ clusters optimized for fintech use cases, supporting high volumes of data streams and messaging traffic while ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, latency issues, and other challenges related to messaging infrastructure to ensure optimal system efficiency within fintech operations.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate Kafka and AMQ messaging capabilities into applications and microservices, facilitating real-time data exchange critical for financial transactions and insights.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify potential issues, and troubleshoot and resolve messaging-related problems in a timely manner, ensuring continuous and secure financial operations.
  • Ensure the messaging infrastructure is protected from unauthorized access and implement security best practices to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform capacity planning exercises to scale the messaging infrastructure based on the specific needs and growth projections of the fintech sectors.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and best practices tailored for fintech applications to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools specific to fintech requirements, streamlining deployment, configuration, and management tasks for the messaging systems in these sectors.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in messaging technologies within fintech, providing insights and recommendations for potential improvements and competitive advantages.
Requirements:
  • 7 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing Kafka and AMQ messaging systems in a production environment within the fintech or banking sectors.
  • Proficiency with Apache Kafka, Apache ActiveMQ, and related messaging protocols, particularly in fintech applications.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures within the specific context of financial operations.
  • Experience with stream processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka Streams, Apache Flink) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial for fintech deployments.
  • Programming skills in at least one language (Java, Python, etc.) for integration and automation tasks within fintech environments.
  • Proactive and analytical approach to troubleshooting and resolving complex technical challenges, especially in the context of financial data processing and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders within the fintech sectors.
