Institutional Investment Operations Specialist

As an Institutional Investment Operations Representative at Wells Fargo Bank, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our investment operations. Your primary responsibility will be to perform daily manual adjustments to ensure system readiness for margining activity. Additionally, you will be responsible for all functions of the New Business team, including updating index rates, securities pricing updates, reviewing and reporting exceptions, performing various reconciliations, processing interest movements, and reporting findings to concerned parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely completion of drafting, reviewing confirmations, and matching processes.
- Elevate exceptions and disputes in a timely manner within the Operations group and Middle Office to ensure prompt resolution.
- Resolve client queries and disputes within established timelines.
- Understand internal and external client needs and sensitivities, ensuring proactive meeting of these requirements.
- Display a sound working knowledge of derivatives products, terminologies, and trade life cycles.
- Be familiar with ISDA standards and definitions.
- Flag high-risk items for management attention and adhere to the escalation matrix.
- Participate in system implementation UAT testing.
- Develop relationships with businesses and counterparties to ensure effective escalation and timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with Technology to identify and resolve system issues, implementing enhancements to increase efficiency.
- Swiftly identify potential operational risks and develop controls to mitigate related risks.
- Display strong analytical skills to improve workflow and increase operational efficiency.
- Take ownership of monitoring daily functions of Derivatives Confirmation Inbound processes.
- Organize team work, assign tasks, set short-term priorities, monitor activities, and ensure timely and accurate completion of work.
- Periodically review procedure documents and checklists.
- Develop training and mentoring skills for new hires.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced degree (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in OTC Derivative Confirmation.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build partnerships with business stakeholders and other support functions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage expectations and deliver on commitments.
- Experience working across one or more geographic territories or regions.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with senior leaders across Technology, Operations, and Strategy functions.
- Understanding of Derivatives trade life cycle and associated functions.
- Good understanding of Calypso, Endur, Pega, and other industry-standard applications.
- ISDA definitions.
- Excellent internal and external client handling skills.
