Database Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing standardized operations, health checks, and first-level troubleshooting for Oracle databases on Exadata platforms with GoldenGate replication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations & Monitoring: Run daily health checks on Oracle environments and Exadata components, monitor GoldenGate processes, check replication lag, and perform basic restarts as per SOPs.
  • Backups, Patching & Changes: Execute RMAN backup/restore activities, apply standard database patches and updates during maintenance windows, and perform routine changes under change control.
  • Incident Response & Escalation: Triage alarms, gather diagnostics, and restore services where possible. Escalate incidents to higher levels with clear context, timelines, and impact summaries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in Oracle DBA (12c/19c+) with user/admin tasks, schema management, and privilege handling.
  • Familiarity with Exadata concepts, including ASM, storage cells, and smart scan concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate fundamentals, such as process roles, trail files, start/stop, and lag checks.
  • Understanding of RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager/Cloud Control, and SQL*Plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
