Senior Oracle Database Administrator Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage our distributed environment of multiple Oracle databases.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, including cloning, patching, and upgrade. They will also possess expertise in installation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of Oracle Golden Gate - 11g bidirectional replication.

This role is responsible for administering multiple Oracle databases across locations in a distributed environment, providing user support, identifying and resolving database-related issues, conducting periodic health checks on DBs, and formulating new requirements after taking inputs from implementation and support teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with vendors about new patches with respect to DB as well as applications, new requirements, and bugs within specified timelines. Additionally, they will provide technical training to peers and subordinates within the IT department and support the user acceptance testing for new features/functionalities added in HIS and related systems.

The role requires strong analytical/problem-solving skills, time management, and organizing abilities. The candidate should be proficient in security administration, including auditing, creating users, roles, profiles, assigning object-level and column-level grants, controlling user access to system resources, etc.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field is required. Minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration is preferred. Expertise in SQL query tuning and database performance analysis is necessary. Administration of oracle partitioned tables and their maintenance is also required. Proficiency in Security administration like auditing, creating users, roles, profiles, assigning object level and column level grants, controlling users access to system resources etc. Basic UNIX shell commands and scripting [ssh, vi, grep, sed, awk etc.] are expected.
