Job Description

Electrical Engineer Opportunity

Our organization is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for high-voltage substations and transmission projects.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform analysis and design of single-line diagrams.
  • Develop concepts for substation relaying & metering diagrams, including A.C. schematic diagrams, and D.C. Schematic diagrams for basic design.
  • Responsible for producing protection and control designs for LVAC, LVDC, and UPS equipment associated with LTS.
  • Responsible for producing C.T./V.T. and cable sizing calculations.
  • Responsible for producing relay configurations and associated documentation.
  • Production of engineering and test specifications for new and existing solutions.
  • Prepare specification and Bill of Material for Protection / Control / Metering / RTU / Communication Panels.
  • Develop concept diagrams for substation control systems and communications interfaces, including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.
  • Develop protection and control panel layouts.
  • Develop high-level cable schedules for substations.
  • Perform factory acceptance tests for protection and control panels.
  • Review the work performed by others.
  • Work closely with other engineering and design and project team members to coordinate overall design and requirements during execution and commissioning phases.
  • Understand and clarify customer requirements, driving those expectations into solutions.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience with a focus on protection / control / communications design for substations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8-10 years of experience.
  • Experience in writing and providing support documentation for relay calculations.
  • Knowledge of ANSI standards, and IEC standards knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with various vendor protective relay equipment typically used in substation protection, including SEL, Siemens, GE.
  • Know-how in configuration tools for protection relays from different vendors (SEL, Siemens, Hitachi, GE, Schneider) and control systems is preferable.
  • Expertise with Ebase and Auto-CAD.
  • Hands-on experience with DIGSI-4 & DIGSI-5, Relay Configuration tool of GE, ABB or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in working with system integrators.
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge on working of different relays application.

You should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and inter-personal skills. Additionally, you should enjoy learning new things and building your knowledge base in new areas, as well as working in team environments and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
