Job Overview:

We seek a senior operations leader to manage our regional branch in Kolkata. As the primary contact, you will oversee daily branch activities, including financial targets, sales growth, and team leadership. A deep understanding of the elevator industry and general management practices within this sector are essential for success.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Direct department managers by providing clear guidance, training, and communicating company policies, procedures, and objectives effectively.
  • Lead by example in safety commitment and administer the safety program, including conducting necessary audits and emphasizing safety to all staff. Chair the branch safety committee.
  • Ensure efficient daily operations, meeting financial commitments, including target EBIT and gross margin percent goals across all business lines.
  • Manage profit and loss (P&L) and utilize accounting reports to measure each department's performance to ensure monthly budgetary goals are met.
  • Collaborate with sales managers to increase customer base or directly handle sales responsibilities, including meetings with current and potential customers, resolving issues, and participating in large project bidding for profitability.
  • Nurture strong working relationships with clients, consultants, building owners, managers, and prospects.
  • Oversee employee performance management and ensure compliance with all company directives and initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the market area, including sales backlog, service volume, market penetration, outstanding bids, available new business, special projects, staffing requirements, and availability.
  • Stay updated on local elevator industry code requirements and employment laws.
  • Develop a thorough familiarity with company products through training and equipment updates.
  • Review and approve invoices, accounts receivable, write-offs, credits, and assist in problem account collections. Lead meetings to review overdue receivables and assign action plans.
  • Consult regional teams on operations, sales, accounting, safety, and human resources matters.

Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of experience in a relevant leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of the elevator industry and general management practices within the elevator sector.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and deal with various abstract and concrete variables.
