Indirect Tax Advisory Associate Role

Hiring for an experienced professional in Indirect Tax Advisory to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record and relevant work experience in the field of litigation or advisory, with expertise in GST and/or customs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-depth analysis of legal provisions related to indirect taxes.
  • Drafting of comprehensive advises, opinions, and compliance reports.
  • Preparation of engaging PowerPoint presentations for client meetings, trainings, and seminars.
  • Analysis of client data to estimate tax impact on business transactions.
  • Scenario building for identifying the most tax-efficient business model.
  • Contributing to articles, monographs, and other knowledge management activities.

Client Service Delivery/Execution:

  • Identifying and discussing technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risk issues.
  • Handling tax matters related to submissions, notices, appeals, and meeting with tax authorities.
  • Executing work on multiple clients with near-independent responsibility for smaller clients.
  • Developing rapport with middle layers of client management.

Commercial Acumen:

  • Staying up-to-date with firm-wide and competitor activities, as well as general business trends.
  • Applying knowledge to deliver solutions to clients and bring value to their business.

Networking & Identification of Opportunities:

  • Identifying new opportunities for existing clients and communicating with managers.
  • Networking internally to gain understanding of issues impacting clients.
  • Compiling a legal database and contributing to study sessions while staying updated with latest developments.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented approach.

Education and Experience:

  • CA or Law Graduate from a reputable institution with a strong academic record.
  • 0-2 years of post-qualification experience in Indirect Tax, preferably in litigation or advisory.
