Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Direct Tax Advisory Associate to join our team. This role involves providing expert advice on complex tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, transaction documentation, and international tax advisory.

  • Mergers and acquisitions: We require the candidate to have experience in direct tax advisory on complex issues such as mergers, demergers, spin-offs, and business transfers.
  • Transaction documentation: The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing transaction documentation.
  • International tax advisory: We need a professional with expertise in international tax advisory, focusing on base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS), Multilateral Instrument (MLI), General Anti-Avoidance Rule (GAAR), Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAA), and domestic tax laws and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) regulatory issues.
  • Inbound and outbound structuring: The ideal candidate should have knowledge of inbound and outbound structuring.
  • Treaty interpretations: We require a professional with experience in treaty interpretations.
  • Research: The candidate should be able to research varied income-tax issues, including preparation of cases for opinions to brief senior counsel on complex direct tax issues.
