Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration and Database Solutions Expert to lead data migration projects, ensuring seamless transfer and transformation of data from legacy systems to modern database solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Development: Design and implement data migration strategies for data integrity and availability during the migration process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand data structures for effective migration solutions.
  • Data Mapping and Transformation: Perform data mapping, transformation, and validation to ensure successful migration from legacy systems to new databases.
  • Database Optimization: Analyze existing database structures and provide recommendations for optimization and improvement.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute testing plans to validate data post-migration, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues during and after migration.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Document processes, methodologies, and best practices related to data migration and database solutions.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 6-10 years of experience in data migration projects and database management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
  • Conceptual Understanding: Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Tool Familiarity: Experience with data migration tools and software such as Talend, Informatica, or AWS Database Migration Service.
  • Cloud Expertise: Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Languages: Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks.
  • Critical Thinking: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders and team members.
