Procurement Specialist Role

The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in acquiring software products that meet the company's specifications.

This position involves researching, evaluating, and negotiating with vendors to obtain the best possible solutions. The Procurement Specialist will work closely with leaders to understand software needs and ensure that all purchased software aligns with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Evaluation: Research and evaluate software products and services to identify the most suitable solutions for the company's needs.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate with software vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and conditions for software purchases.
  • Procurement Process Management: Organize and manage the procurement process from purchase request to purchase order in the ERP system.
  • Post-Purchase Tasks: Manage post-purchase tasks, including tracking renewals of software licenses and subscriptions.
  • Software Compliance: Ensure that all purchased software products and services comply with company standards and specifications.
  • Delivery and Installation: Coordinate and manage the delivery, installation, and maintenance of software products and services.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of software licenses, subscriptions, and renewals.
  • Software Optimization: Monitor software usage and recommend strategies for optimizing software license utilization.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends and developments in software products and services.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Experience: 5-15 years of experience in software procurement, preferably in a product company.
  3. Skills: Familiarity with software licensing and contract management, excellent negotiation and communication skills, data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.
  4. Personal Qualities: Ability to work independently and in a team environment, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
