Senior Director of Product Design

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our company by designing and releasing intuitive and powerful solutions that empower both internal teams and external users.

The Senior Director, Product Design will lead the design team and be the lead for our design strategy. This individual will build and lead a team of talented product designers, setting a vision for user experience across our products.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with 12+ years of experience in product design within a technology or product-centric company. The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading a team of designers who design and ship AI-powered products or features.

The successful candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles. They will also have expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with a track record of using data to inform design decisions.

The role requires excellent relationship management skills working in a technical environment with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, operations, and internal sales/consulting teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills are also essential, with the ability to clearly articulate complex design concepts and strategies to a variety of audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Strategy: Define and drive the holistic design vision for our products, ensuring a consistent, high-quality user experience across internal and external applications.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in product management, engineering, and data science to align on product strategy, goals, and roadmaps.
  • User Advocacy: Advocate for the user through research, testing, and feedback, ensuring design decisions are informed by a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.
  • Design Systems: Maintain and establish a centralized design system with standards, patterns, and best practices for designing with AI, including data visualization, trust, and transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent.
