Test Analyst Role Description:
As a Test Analyst, you will be responsible for testing the product to provide assurance to customers of the quality of their release. You will work independently or as part of a cross-functional project team, creating and executing detailed test cases, and communicating effectively with the development and management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support business-as-usual activities by creating and executing detailed test cases.
- Contribute to test activities including identification of test conditions, creation and execution of test cases for project work.
- Communicate effectively with the development and management teams when required.
- Identify areas of improvement in the testing lifecycle and share the same with the lead to reduce time to deployment and ensure quality of test deliverables.
- Document mildly complex processes or procedures you identify that may be of benefit to other testers.
- Participate in planning, stand-ups, estimation, retrospectives, and backlog grooming as appropriate.
- Invest in personal training and development to maintain and advance your performance over time.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years commercial manual software testing experience.
- Strong experience and knowledge of software testing lifecycle with Agile, Waterfall, and mixed methodologies.
- Strong experience in API Testing using Postman.
- Experience planning the application and reporting of internal and external testing phases.
- Time spent working in cross-functional team environments, particularly self-managing environments.
- Good working knowledge of testing management tools i.e. TestRail and JIRA.
- Good working knowledge of relevant technologies and concepts including SQL Server, Client/Server applications, CRM, Postman, Utilities industry.
- Good working knowledge of SQL statements.
- Good working knowledge of REST API.
- Experience in supporting junior testers.
- Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related degree, or comparable professional development and commercial experience.
- ISTQB Foundation certification.
