Job Opportunity: Data Governance and Analytics Specialist

Our team seeks an experienced professional to lead data governance and analytics efforts. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust data management processes that ensure the integrity and reliability of our data assets.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze current data usage patterns, workspace structure, and licensing requirements to inform strategic decisions.
  • Identify and document inactive or redundant workspaces, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement governance structures for workspace creation, ownership, access, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to integrate telemetry data into Microsoft Fabric, enhancing data insights and decision-making capabilities.
  • Design and deploy reusable templates or processes for long-term workspace monitoring and governance.
  • Support communication and training initiatives for workspace owners and stakeholders, fostering a culture of data-driven decision making.
  • Provide technical documentation and handover plans at the end of the engagement, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer.
  • Advising business units on reporting requirements and collaborating on international roll-outs and system changes.

Key qualifications include:

Requirements:
  • Degree in computer science, economics, or comparable training or professional experience, with certifications in Power BI & Fabric.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Power BI, including tenant-level administration and monitoring.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI governance and lifecycle management.

Proven experience working with Microsoft Fabric is highly valued, particularly in areas such as:

  1. Lakehouses
  2. Warehouses
  3. Pipelines
  4. Semantic Models
  • Experience working with or customizing the Fabric Usage and Monitoring (FUAM) toolkit or similar telemetry/monitoring frameworks.
  • Very good experience in developing innovative BI solutions.
  • Advanced SQL and DAX skills.
  • Experience in scripting and automation is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight timelines.
