Kafka Administrator Position

We seek an experienced Kafka administrator to oversee the management and maintenance of large-scale Kafka clusters in both on-premises and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and manage Kafka clusters for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Develop and implement strategies for disaster recovery planning, patching, and upgrading Kafka clusters to ensure security, availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
  • Maintain accurate metrics and monitor cluster performance to identify areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Automate tasks such as Kafka cluster installations, topic/ACL/connector deployments, and documentation updates using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and GitOps.
  • Collaborate with developers to provide expertise on Kafka administration and ensure seamless integration with other systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Kafka Administration: Proficiency in Confluent and AWS MSK
  • Big Data & Hadoop Ecosystem: Strong understanding of data processing and storage concepts
  • Apache Spark: Experience with distributed computing and data analytics
  • Operating Systems: Expertise in Linux/Unix Systems and Windows Server
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Shell and Python scripting
  • Automation Tools: Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, and GitOps
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with GitLab and Jenkins
  • Monitoring Tools: Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, and Dynatrace
  • Atlassian Stack: Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket
