Technical Design Director

The ideal candidate will lead a team in the development and delivery of detailed technical drawings, ensuring error-free and thoroughly detailed working drawings with all specifications clearly indicated.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Detailed Drawing Development & Management
    • Prepare and check GFC (Good for Construction) and working drawings for projects, incorporating required technical details/specifications and maintaining clear drawing lists, tracking versions and revision histories.
    • Explain and hand over detailed drawing sets and specifications to vendors, site teams, and execution partners, ensuring full comprehension.
    • Serve as the technical SPOC for all drawing and detailing queries during project execution; promptly resolve on-site issues and coordination gaps.
  • Execution Support
    • Release GFC and working drawings within agreed turnaround times, supporting project schedules and minimizing execution delays.
    • Track and report on drawing delivery milestones, bottlenecks, and outstanding issues.
  • Specification & Quality Assurance
    • Ensure all necessary specifications, material details, and construction notes are crisply captured on the drawings.
    • Conduct multi-stage checks, peer reviews, and quality audits before releasing drawings for execution.
    • Drive continuous improvement in technical detailing standards, templates, and team knowledge.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
    • Mentor, train, and review the work of the technical design/drafting team for quality, efficiency, and continuous upskilling.
    • Coordinate closely with the AVP Design, concept/pre-sales teams, QS, MEP, site execution, and vendor partners for seamless technical transitions.
  • Documentation & Version Control
    • Maintain organized digital archives for drawing sets, revisions, and all technical documentation.
    • Manage drawing issuance logs, approval records, and support audit/compliance processes.
