Chief Technical Architect

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to drive the technical strategy and delivery of our cybersecurity platform.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll build and scale a high-performing team, own end-to-end engineering execution, and lay the foundation for our product and culture.
The responsibilities include:
- Oversight of engineering roadmap in alignment with company goals and objectives
- Building and scaling a lean engineering team through hiring and mentoring talent to achieve business outcomes
- Driving the design, development, and delivery of secure software products that meet customer needs and expectations
- Establishing best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and architecture to improve productivity and quality
- Collaboration with founders, product, and design teams to translate business needs into technical execution
- Technical decision-making on architecture, tools, and platform design to ensure scalability and reliability
- Setting and tracking engineering KPIs for velocity, quality, and reliability to measure performance
- Ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards to protect customer data and intellectual property
Key performance indicators (KPIs) for success in the first 12 months include:
- Building and scaling an initial engineering team of 5-7 engineers to achieve business outcomes
- Delivering the MVP release of Visiblaze IQ and setting the roadmap for enterprise readiness
- Establishing secure CI/CD pipelines and monitoring baselines to improve productivity and quality
- Defining and documenting engineering best practices and architecture standards to ensure consistency
- Demonstrating measurable improvements in team velocity and product quality to achieve business outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record of delivering results
- At least 4+ years hands-on development experience with expertise in multiple programming languages and technologies
- At least 2-3 years in engineering management (team building, delivery) with a focus on people development and process improvement
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent to achieve business outcomes
- Experience delivering SaaS products (cybersecurity, cloud, or compliance preferred) with a strong understanding of system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native design
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Redis, scalable data modeling, REST APIs, GraphQL, and AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or similar cloud environments
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and excellent communication skills, collaboration with cross-functional teams
The following skills and qualifications would be beneficial for the role:
- Experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration platforms, event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis Streams), monitoring & logging tools (Prometheus, ELK, CloudWatch), and compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
- Understanding of security best practices for SaaS products and a strong passion for innovation and continuous learning
