Job Title: Energy Storage Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Energy Storage Specialist to join our team.

  1. Battery System Design: As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing battery-based energy storage systems. This includes electrical design of PCS, BMS, EMS, and SCADA designs. You will need to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of the system into existing infrastructure.
  2. Code Compliance: Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulations in the USA is crucial for this role. You will need to stay up-to-date on industry developments and ensure that all projects meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  3. Technical Review: In this role, you will perform due diligence reviews of technical documents and installations to determine compliance. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will enable you to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  4. Battery Technology Knowledge: Understanding of fundamental aspects and main characteristics of current battery technologies is essential for success in this position. You will need to have a solid grasp of battery parameters and their relation to overall system performance.
  5. Test Planning: Preparing FAT and integration test plans for BESS systems requires strong technical skills and knowledge of testing procedures. You will need to collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to develop comprehensive testing strategies.
  6. Project Management: Managing bids and projects throughout their life cycle involves coordinating with multiple stakeholders and ensuring timely completion of tasks. Your organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks will enable you to manage complex projects effectively.
  7. Electrical Testing: Performing electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures requires attention to safety protocols and adherence to established guidelines. You will need to maintain accurate records of testing results and make recommendations for improvement based on findings.
  8. Training and Development: Attending training sessions on equipment provided by manufacturers and approved by managers will help you stay up-to-date on industry advancements and best practices. Your commitment to ongoing learning will enhance your expertise and contribute to the growth and development of our organization.
  9. A minimum of 2 years of experience in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) is required for this role. A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a relevant engineering field is also necessary. Candidates with a Ph.D. in similar fields are welcome to apply.
  10. Familiarity with electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations is essential. Strong analytical, planning, time management, and customer service skills are also required. Competent skills using Microsoft Office software like Outlook, Excel, Word are a must. Client management, team management, and process management skills are highly valued. Additionally, knowledge of other electrical and PV software is an advantage.
