Commercial Real Estate Team Lead

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our commercial real estate lending team.

  • This role requires strong leadership and analytical skills to manage day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of analysts in processing CRE loan applications, credit documentation, and portfolio management.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality work products while maintaining 98%+ right-first-time documentation accuracy.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to team members.

Operational Excellence:

  • Implement and enforce adherence to AAF Lending Policy, Standards, and Lending Criteria.
  • Review and approve credit papers/documentation prior to submission.
  • Support the use of front-end systems to monitor loan applications through approval.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders in the UK.
  • Manage escalations, provide operational updates, and lead process alignment discussions.
  • Foster open communication between India and UK teams.

Compliance & Risk:

  • Collaborate with KYC and Financial Crime teams for onboarding/fraud cases.
  • Ensure compliance with UK banking regulations and client-specific policies.

Process Improvement & Reporting:

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare and present performance reports, dashboards, and insights for senior leadership.

Candidate Profile:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or financial services.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and working with international banking clients.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of CRE lending, credit documentation, and compliance.
  • Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient in banking systems, reporting, and MS Office tools.
