Job Title: Cloud Operations Engineer

We seek a seasoned cloud operations expert to lead our cloud infrastructure, scripting/programming, monitoring, and cost optimization initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, scripting/programming, monitoring, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the go-to expert for monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs across AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms.
  • Closely track daily/weekly usage, spending patterns, and billing reports, highlighting anomalies and suggesting improvements.
  • Develop and maintain scripts/automation (Python, Bash, or similar) for cost reporting, resource clean-up, and efficiency enhancements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to right-size compute, storage, and database resources, ensuring optimal utilization and minimizing waste.
  • Identify and implement reserved instances, savings plans, auto-scaling policies, and storage lifecycle policies to reduce spend.
  • Leverage native tools like AWS Cost Explorer, CloudWatch, GCP Billing, as well as third-party monitoring platforms, to ensure seamless integration and maximum efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP services (EC2, S3, IAM, GKE, BigQuery, etc.).
  • Experience in cloud cost monitoring & optimization.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Bash, Shell, etc.).
  • Understanding of SRE concepts: reliability, scalability, monitoring, and automation.
  • Prior experience in cost analysis and optimization for enterprise workloads, with a proven track record of delivering results.
