Job Description:

As a senior engineer in the technology domain, you will play a key role in providing technical support and maintenance for the mainframe environment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the operationally meets its business service delivery targets and maintains currency, stability, and availability of all services managed within the platform environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing mainframe DB2 system administration roles including DB2 installs and version upgrades
  • Performing mainframe DB2 incident/problem and change support activities
  • Great written communicator with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a simple and easy-to-consume manner
  • Comfortable coding in one or scripting languages and using these skills to automate as much as possible
  • Ability to advise upon, design, and implement operational procedures around backup, availability, and reliability best practices
  • Experience implementing disaster recovery procedures, along with automation and alerting

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of mainframe DB2 system admin experience
  • Have personally performed DB2 release/version upgrades on Mainframe
  • Previous mainframe system product installation experience
  • Ability to define and automate incident and threshold alerting
  • Strong mainframe z/OS skills and understanding
  • Experience in implementing and performing backup and recovery procedures
  • Experience with DR/Failover configuration, setup, and operation
  • Strong understanding of Mainframe security RACF system
  • Demonstrate understanding of Mainframe Network and Storage concepts
