Linux System Administration Role">

Welcome to a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise in central infrastructure services, including Security Groups/RPM/Rsync/Mail/Active Directory/Chef automation/Nagios/repository management/Monitoring.

We are seeking an experienced professional with strong background in server management administration, particularly with Linux operating systems.

  1. Our ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in server management administration, with expertise in installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of servers.
  2. The successful candidate will possess profound knowledge of Linux OS operations, including hypervisor operations (XEN and VMware), LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables.
  3. A good understanding of physical server management and troubleshooting skills in server down situations is also essential.
  4. In addition, we require associate level knowledge of at least one public cloud landscape (AWS, Azure, GCP) and basic knowledge of automation tools and scripting (e.g. chef, bash, Perl).
  5. Bonus points for experience in using GitHub and Jira, as well as monitoring with Prometheus on docker setup and/or ELK stack.

This is a challenging role that offers the opportunity to work with our team to develop and implement efficient solutions for managing our server infrastructure.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing our server infrastructure, including installing, maintaining, and decommissioning servers.
  • Providing expert-level support for Linux OS operations, including hypervisor operations (XEN and VMware), LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables.
  • Developing and implementing automation scripts using tools like chef, bash, and Perl.
  • Working closely with our team to identify areas for improvement and developing solutions to optimize our server infrastructure.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • 3-6 years of experience in server management administration, with expertise in Linux operating systems.
  • Profound knowledge of Linux OS operations, including hypervisor operations (XEN and VMware), LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables.
  • Good understanding of physical server management and troubleshooting skills in server down situations.
  • Associate level knowledge of at least one public cloud landscape (AWS, Azure, GCP).
