Storage Administrator Job Description

Key responsibilities of a Storage Administrator include managing and administering large scale file systems, implementing data security measures, monitoring disk space, file system usage, and capacity planning.

  • Manage and Administer Large Scale File Systems: Develop and implement efficient file system management strategies to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Implement Data Security Measures: Design and deploy robust data security protocols to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorized access.
  • Monitor Disk Space, File System Usage, and Capacity Planning: Continuously monitor storage infrastructure to identify potential issues and optimize resource allocation.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues with Storage Systems: Utilize advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex storage-related problems and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams to Ensure Seamless Operations: Foster strong working relationships with various teams to guarantee smooth day-to-day operations and achieve organizational goals.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 Years of Experience in Storage Administration: Proven track record of success in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale storage environments.
  • Pure, Isilon, Qumulo, Dell EMC, NAS, Brocade Technologies: Proficiency in multiple storage technologies to effectively manage diverse storage ecosystems.
  • Excellent Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
