We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Senior Backup and Storage Specialist.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing regular system maintenance, including incident solving, change implementation, patch management, and analyzing/solving performance and security issues related to backup and storage systems. They will also troubleshoot backup failure issues on a daily basis for Oracle, VMware, and Filesystem.

Additionally, they will check and assist end-users with Oracle restore failures, support change requests for backup infrastructure, coordinate with vendors for various software and hardware issues until resolution, participate in crisis calls, problem management calls, and escalated issues.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of backup and storage technologies, including NetBackup Administrator experience, knowledge of product features, and troubleshooting skills. They should also have expertise in various backups and restores, such as VMWare, Oracle, and Filesystem, as well as storage devices like NetBackup Appliances and Dell Data Domains.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Minimum 7+ years of experience as a NetBackup Administrator with sound knowledge of product, features, and troubleshooting.
  2. Understanding of various backups and restores like VMWare, Oracle, Filesystem and troubleshooting them.
  3. Understanding of storage devices like NetBackup Appliances, Dell Data Domains, and troubleshooting the problems on these devices.
  4. Sound knowledge on NetBackup SLP, duplications, NetBackup Snapshot Manager.
  5. Good knowledge on reporting tools like NetBackup Ops Center, Aptare IT Analytics, Splunk.
  6. Understanding of platforms like SAN, NAS, Virtualization, and S3 protocols.
  7. Experience representing the team in incident, problem, and crisis calls.
  8. Accountability for delivery - takes ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution with minimal supervision.
