Job Role

This position involves leading and directing physical activities within a yard, vessel, road queue, and ship arrivals to ensure smooth terminal operations. Key responsibilities include managing staff, achieving operational targets, maintaining safety protocols, and handling oversized containers efficiently.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are crucial in evaluating success in this role. To achieve incident-free shifts, lashers must follow the buddy system while working with slings, man cages, or ladders. Regular headcounts are also necessary to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

  • To direct and control physical activities within the specified areas.
  • To manage personnel under your supervision effectively.
  • To maintain a safe work environment.
  • To handle oversized containers efficiently.
  • To enforce policies and procedures.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and Zodiac is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of equipment operations can be an added advantage.
  • A valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) license and driving experience are required.
