Job Summary

:

A seasoned Structural Engineer with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering and extensive experience in designing and coordinating civil/structural works on infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate has led at least two medium to large-scale EPC/FEED projects as a CSA Engineering Group Supervisor in a reputable engineering office or consultancy. They possess a broad understanding of structural engineering precedents, latest trends, and principles, as well as the ability to coordinate with other technical disciplines. The candidate should be familiar with Indian, US, Euro, and other foreign codes/standards and local practices. Proficiency in industry-standard software, including structural and finite element analysis packages such as STAAD Pro, ANSYS, GTStrudl, SAP, and SACS, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops or assists in the development of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals, design criteria, specifications, budgets, and schedules for projects of varying complexity.
  • Provides guidance and support to engineers in performing structural analysis and design of various steel and concrete structures.
  • Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendations.
  • Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
  • Reviews and checks the work of subordinate engineers and provides input for their performance evaluation.
  • Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4-year degree from an accredited college program in Civil Engineering. A Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • 20+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Total experience of working in Energy projects for a period of 12 years and 2 years in Infra projects, with 4 years in a lead position.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in preparing proposals.

Desirable Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working in Infrastructure and Energy Projects.
  • Possess a broad understanding of major design engineering deliverables.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work in a project or staff group. Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and/or difficult coordination requirements.
  • Is conversant with the use of applicable design codes governing structural steel structures, such as AISC 303, AISC 360, AISC 341, AWS D1.1, RCSC, and/or equivalent Euro, Canadian, Australian, Indian codes.
  • Performs work using Standard Application Programs and appropriate computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools.
  • Coordinates engineering effort in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors, and between other groups.
  • Understanding of engineering planning and control methods, including computerized methods.
  • Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects, including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
  • Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
  • Skill in oral and written communication and writing technical reports.
