Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structural analysis and design, with a focus on optimising fabrication and installation.

  • Perform structural analysis and design for commercial buildings, ensuring that the structures meet the required safety and performance standards.
  • Lead seismic design of new and existing structures, conducting peer reviews and checks to maintain performance and reduce risk.
  • Develop, coordinate, and review 2D/3D models and drawings (Revit, CAD) for concept, detailed design, and construction documentation.
  • Utilise modular framing systems for secondary structures, selecting and detailing standard welded sections to improve constructability and reduce cost.
  • Conduct value engineering on existing and proposed designs to improve constructability, reduce programme risk, and maintain performance.
  • Closely coordinate with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical services to resolve interfaces, penetrations, loads, and maintenance/access requirements.
  • Prepare design reports, specifications, calculation packages, BOM's, and RFI responses; support tender queries as required.
  • Participate in internal design reviews, verification/validation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, builders, and fabricators; represent the company in meetings and workshops via video conferencing tools.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years' structural engineering experience in the Australian commercial sector preferred.
  • Demonstrated seismic analysis and design expertise.
  • Proven experience integrating structural designs with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical services.
  • Hands-on use of Revit and 2D/3D drafting/BIM systems for structural documentation.
  • Experience applying modular framing systems for secondary structures and detailing standard welded sections.
  • Track record of value engineering and delivering cost-effective, buildable solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian codes/standards (e.g., IS 1893 incl. earthquake; IS 456, IS 800, IS 8751 etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with an India-based team in a remote environment.

Technical Competencies:

The ideal candidate will possess the following technical competencies:

  • Structural design (steel, concrete, secondary/supporting systems).
  • Seismic design and detailing.
  • BIM coordination and clash resolution in Revit; model federation and standards compliance.
  • Detailing of standard welded sections, platework, and connections for fabrication.
  • Interface management with mechanical equipment loads, supports, vibration, and maintenance clearances.
  • Preparation of specifications, reports, schedules, and take-offs.
