We are seeking a Strategic Risk Leader to join our team.
The Strategic Risk Leader will lead the development of wholesale risk models, collaborating closely with the Head of Risk Analytics and Capital Management to establish effective risk governance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Governance
- Establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Wholesale Rating Models, providing thought leadership and contributing to best practices in model development and validation.
- Track regulatory updates and translate them into model design considerations.
- Develop innovative solutions independently.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate effectively with Senior Management and Board-level committees.
- Engage with stakeholders across the credit lifecycle: Limit Management, Collateral Management, RAROC, Customer Rating.
- Support governance and audit readiness through proper model documentation and transparent development practices.
- Model Development
- Design and implement end-to-end processes for development, validation, and lifecycle management of Wholesale Rating Models.
- Develop and validate various models, including Corporate/Wholesale Rating Models and Climate Risk Analytics.
- Explore new approaches for rating model development and Master Rating Scale calibration.
- Team Leadership
- Mentor and lead a team of modelers and consultants.
- Drive capability building and continuous learning within the team.
Requirements:
- Strong foundation in Statistics and Mathematics, with experience in developing and validating Wholesale Rating Models.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python, data analysis, and visualization using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
- 10-15 years of progressive risk management experience in the banking sector.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Postgraduate or professional qualification in risk management or finance.
- Experience in developing teams in a multi-jurisdictional organization.
