Medical Coder Interventional Radiology Job Description

We are seeking skilled medical professionals to work in interventional radiology coding. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and experienced in accurately assigning codes for procedures and diagnoses, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret complex reports to assign accurate codes for procedures and diagnoses.
  • Apply appropriate codes for vascular and non-vascular IR procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, CPT changes, and compliance regulations.
  • Support audits by providing detailed coding rationale and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in interventional radiology coding.
  • MIPS Coding is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with radiology workflow, RIS/PACS systems, and coding tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes.
