ServiceNow Security Operations Specialist

ServiceNow Security Operations Specialist is responsible for implementing and configuring the ServiceNow Security Operations modules – Vulnerability Response (VR) and Security Incident Response (SIR). The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of ServiceNow SecOps architecture, data models, and module interdependencies. They should have proven experience with at least 2 full lifecycle implementations of VR and SIR, as well as experience integrating ServiceNow with security tools.
Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end implementation, configuring workflows, playbooks, data imports, dashboards, and business rules; implementing threat intelligence integrations and vulnerability scanner integrations; building use-case-specific automation using Flow Designer or Security Orchestration (SOAR); collaborating with cybersecurity teams to gather detailed requirements; translating business requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans; integrating ServiceNow SecOps with external tools such as SIEMs, CMDB, scanners, threat intel platforms, and ticketing systems; developing orchestration and remediation workflows for auto-assignment, enrichment, escalation, and resolution; performing UAT, defect resolution, and cutover activities; ensuring system performance, scalability, and security compliance during deployment; creating solution design documents, implementation runbooks, and end-user training materials; and conducting knowledge transfer and handover sessions.
Required skills and qualifications include hands-on scripting experience (JavaScript, Glide API), familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and SOC operations, and excellent client communication and stakeholder management skills. Nice to have experience includes Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) in ServiceNow, GRC/IRM module, multi-org/global deployments and domain separation in ServiceNow, and understanding of vulnerability lifecycle management and incident triage frameworks.
