UI Tester Job Description

Overview of the Role:

The position of UI Tester involves testing software applications to ensure they meet design specifications, provide a seamless user experience, and are intuitive to use across various platforms.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute manual and automated tests to verify that the user interface functions as intended across web, mobile, and/or desktop applications.
  • Ensure UI elements (e.g., buttons, menus, forms, layouts) adhere to design mockups, wireframes, and style guides.
  • Test applications on various browsers (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and devices (e.g., iOS, Android, tablets, desktops) to ensure compatibility and responsiveness.
  • Identify and report bugs in bug-tracking tools with clear descriptions, steps to reproduce, and screenshots/videos.
  • Evaluate the user interface for ease of use, accessibility (e.g., WCAG compliance), and overall user experience.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers, and product managers to clarify requirements and provide feedback on design and functionality.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure new updates or features do not negatively impact existing UI functionality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in UI testing, quality assurance, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in manual testing and familiarity with UI testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium).
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other front-end technologies to understand UI behavior.
