Senior Automation Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our automation team, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust test automation frameworks, executing automated test cases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Develop Robust Test Automation Frameworks: Utilize Selenium WebDriver and Java to craft scalable test automation frameworks that meet the needs of our complex applications.
  • Execute Automated Test Cases: Develop and execute automated test cases for web-based applications with a strong focus on reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and QA leads to identify test requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Participate in Agile Development: Engage in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives as part of an Agile development team.
  • Integrate Automated Tests into CI/CD Pipelines: Seamlessly integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
  • Identify and Track Bugs: Use tools like JIRA to log and track bugs, ensuring prompt resolution and quality improvement.
  • Optimize Test Scripts: Continuously refine test scripts for maintainability, performance, and reliability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Test Automation Experience: 4-7 years of experience in test automation with expertise in Java.
  • Selenium WebDriver Expertise: Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, or JUnit.
  • Automation Framework Development: Proven ability to design and develop automation frameworks (Data Driven, Keyword Driven, Hybrid, etc.).
  • Strong Programming Skills: Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles.
  • Version Control Systems: Experience with Maven/Gradle, Git, and version control systems.
  • CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab CI.
  • RESTful API Automation: Knowledge of RESTful API automation using RestAssured, Postman, or similar tools.
  • BDD Tools: Familiarity with BDD tools like Cucumber is a plus.
  • Agile Methodologies: Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
