System Administrator Position:

We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to fill this key role in our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MySQL administration and Linux server management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. MySQL Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, set up replication, monitor replication, and manage user accounts for MySQL databases.

  2. Database Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot metadata locks, slow queries, replication lag, and optimize database performance to ensure efficient operation.

  3. Linux Server Management: Manage user accounts, monitor system processes, configure cron jobs, update software packages, and perform system resource checks to maintain optimal performance.

  4. Backup and Recovery: Implement and monitor backup and recovery processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup to ensure data integrity.

  5. Patching and Upgrades: Perform routine patching, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments to prevent vulnerabilities.

  6. Troubleshooting: Resolve Level 2 support tickets; escalate complex issues to Level 3 with proper root cause analysis inputs.

  7. Business Continuity Planning: Participate in disaster recovery drills, capacity planning, and system audits to ensure business continuity.

  8. Documentation: Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing.
